I saw this recipe last year on a forum and tried it. They were easy to make and were delicious too!
In top of double boiler melt together:
2/3 c. of sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand)
1 1/3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Mix together until well blended then refrigerate for several hours. Roll into balls.
Melt 2/3 cups semi sweet chips and 2 tsps oil in top of double boiler until chocolate is melted. Use spoon to roll each piece in the melted chocolate until covered. I used the remaining chocolate to drip over the tops of the candy. Let the chocolate dry and enjoy!

What a fun idea, Susan! And it does sound very easy. Lately almost anything I make with chocolate has been going badly wrong . . . Is that a picture of the ones you made?

Yes, I made those. The picture isn’t very good because my digital camera will no longer focus but it gives you an idea of what they look like.
The original recipe calls for
1 pound chocolate chips
1 can eagle brand
I only made a half recipe since there are only two of us. Bill doesn’t like semi sweet chocolate, so in my version I used more of the Eagle Brand.

It also says in the original recipe that you can use semi sweet, milk chocolate or dark chocolate to make it.

I will have to try then sometime. The off focus actually looks deliberate and old fashioned, and perfect for such a sweet treat. :-)
